Eastern Carolina InfraGard Chapter Meeting

Our next Eastern Carolina InfraGard meeting will take place on Wednesday, December 14th, from 1 – 4 PM @ at Cisco, Building 5, 7025 Kit Creek Road, Morrisville, NC 27560. Please note that our December meetings are held on the second week of the month instead of our regularly scheduled third week of the month. We will send out a registration link next week.
We have an exclusive presentation providing a case summary of how the Charlotte FBI investigated and cracked an insider threat (United States v. Xiwen Huang). This will be followed by a panel discussion with the former CEO, prosecuting attorney, intellignece analyst, and the case agents. Please make an effort to join us!
Presentation: Case Summary – United States v. Xiwen Huang: The Story of a North Carolina Insider Threat
This presentation will provide a case summary of the Charlotte FBI investigation into an insider threat who spent a decade stealing from American corporations and transferring sensitive technology to China.
Learn how the FBI worked with victims and private industry to expose the insider, identify the stolen intellectual property, arrest the perpetrator, and prevent the commercialization of the exposed trade secrets.
Biographies:
Special Agent James Granozio joined the FBI in July 2003 and was immediately assigned to the Newark Field Office where he investigated organized crime, public corruption and cyber crime matters. While on the cyber squad, Agent Granozio spent two years working as an undercover Agent targeting online child sexual predators leading him to become the Acting Supervisor. In 2009, Agent Granozio was deployed to Afghanistan where he operated as a hostage negotiator before being selected for a supervisory position in the FBI s Cyber Division in
Washington, D.C. While there, he served as program manager over the
FBI s Cyber Crime Task Force and Innocent Images National Initiative Programs. In this capacity, Agent Granozio was awarded the 2011 FBI Director s Award for Outstanding Cyber Investigation. In 2012, Agent Granozio was transferred to the Charlotte Field Office where he now investigates cyber national security matters and serves as Charlotte Cyber Task Force Coordinator. Agent Granozio received his bachelor s degree in criminal justice from SUNY Brockport and his master s degree in cyber security policy from University Maryland University College.
He is married with two children.
Special Agent Mark Aysta has been employed by the FBI for the past 20 years. Agent Aysta is currently assigned to Counterintelligence matters, specializing in Economic Espionage. Prior to employment by the FBI, Agent Aysta was a Police Officer for the San Diego CA Police Department. Agent Aysta holds a Masters degree in Forensic Science, is married to a Registered Nurse, and has 2 children.
Bill McMahon Bio
Bill McMahon is a serial entrepreneur starting and or turning around more than 6 companies as CEO and Director. Most of these companies have been in the water, environmental and energy businesses in Asia and the US. He has has held positions in engineering, marketing, sales and general management and has spent extensive time in China.
Bill currently serves as director on two boards. The NC Ports Authority and Linxx Global Solutions. He is also an owner of Denver Defense, a gun range that sells guns and training.
He is a graduate of Georgia Institute of Technology with a degree in Nuclear Engineering and Xavier University with an MBA. He has also attended the Wharton and Fuqua Schools of Business for advanced management programs.
Bill has been married for 36 years and has 2 children and 4 grandchildren. He and his wife reside in Denver, NC.
