Charlotte InfraGard Chapter Meeting with Board Member Election

We will open with our annual election of board members. (the first half of the board is up for election every two years, with the second half of the board is elected the following year).

We will have an announcement from Mecklenburg County Sheriff Carmichael, about the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office hosting the NC/SC Counterterrorism Conference being held the October 12-13, 2017, to provide law enforcement personnel with the most current information on fighting terrorism.  The goal is to present speakers who will share information based on their experiences with domestic terror, such as those that occurred in San Bernardino, California, and Charleston, South Carolina.  It will be a great opportunity to learn from those with firsthand knowledge. Active Shooter Survival – How to prepare and what to do when law enforcement arrives

Bio:

Captain Tom Seifert is in his 17th year as a Law Enforcement Professional. He began his career with the Huntersville Police Department in 2001. During his tenure at the Huntersville Police Department he was assigned to several divisions to include Patrol Officer, Training Officer, Patrol Sergeant, Lieutenant, and Community Services Commander before accepting a position at the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office as a Captain in March of 2015.

Captain Seifert holds an Advanced Law Enforcement and Instructor Certification from the North Carolina Criminal Justice and Training Standards. Captain Seifert has a Bachelor’s Degree from the State University of New York, Master’s Degree from Adelphi University in Garden City NY, and completed the West Point Leadership Program presented by Methodist University.

Captain Seifert is married with three children and lives in Stanley NC

Bio:

Terry is the new Chief Information Security Officer at Carolinas Healthcare out of Charlotte, NC.  He has over 20 years’ experience in the information security field with work ranging from security architecture, pen testing, operations, auditing, risk management, disaster preparedness and compliance.  While spending most of his career in health care, he has experience working with a variety of organizations including military, retail and manufacturing – sized from Fortune 100 down to “mom and pop” shops.  Terry has achieved both the CISSP and FACHE certification and earned a Master’s degree in Information Security from DePaul University.  He is also an InfraGard Member (transferring from Chicago to Charlotte).
